The Burberry Prorsum AW 2011 Womenswear show took place yesterday.
A massive tent was erected inside London's Hyde Park, beneath the towering splendour of Albert Memorial, a fitting location for such an iconic British label. Unsurprisingly, celebrities turned out in their droves to witness Christopher Bailey's latest offering.
Much of the outerwear came in warm Autumnal colours. Russet oranges and warm greens alongside berry red capes and coats. This vivid outerwear was styled as vivid blocks of colour against the more muted tones of the trousers and tops.
Burberry also utilised an updated version of its check print throughout the collection, in the same seasonal colour palette imposed on lumberjack print.
Fur also made a strong appearance. Snowy whites to chocolate browns- all with an elegant modern twist. It's commendable that Christopher Bailey managed to utilise something as difficult as fur to create a look that's both timeless yet slightly edgy, as often the two are mutually exclusive
I suspect this Jourdan Dunn look may be one of the most popular- it's very young, wearable and fits beautifully.
Check out the show highlights and the full catwalk show, below. I highly recommend watching the highlights and the climax of the show.
