Whats your name? ---Marty.--- Marty what?--- Maraschino. You know, as in the cherry

2011 is the year of the fuller skirt and longer hems. The micro-minis of the 09s and 10s are receding with the speed of Lewis Hamilton back into the cavernous closets of the well heeled.

In their place are 50s inspired waist-clinching, ankle slimming and hip skimming skirts. Imagine the top half of the picture below lopped off with just the skirt in its place. Voluminous and elegant- Less poodle skirts, more grown up chic, after all, who wants to look like  Rizzo from Grease?

If this retro look is too much for you, than you can water it down with a more modern take. This Elizabeth and James skirt for £415 is my Personal MUST-HAVE! Buy it on net-a-porter.

The attached belt is too die for and you get a skirt that looks like Alaia for the price of... well, £415 is still a lot for a skirt, but totally worth it? (she says hopefully)
