Opulent Holiday Homes

Ok, so they might remind you a bit of Michael Jackon's Neverland and may have that too-good-to-be-true quality that renders them slightly unbecoming in their eery perfection, but we both know you wouldn't think twice about moving in.

Monday- Friday: Hanneli Mustaparta

The other week, as it was Red Nose Day, one of the departments of my firm decided to indulge its staff members by allowing them to wear red in return for a small donation. And this is about as daring as it gets when you're working in the city.

So forgive me for feeling a little pang of jealousy when I saw these photos of Hanneli Mustaparta, contributing photographer for Vogue. Her clothes are uber-cool, ranging from her Stella McCartney coat and ipad case to her J Brand jeans and powder blue vintage blouse. And she probably gets a press discount and free clothes all the time, hell, if I were a fashion designer I'd give her plenty of freebies.

I'm sure you'll agree, the girl's got style.

In a very unusual way: Musical Biopics

My favourite film genre is the musical biopic.

Amongst them my favourites are;

 Nine/ Walk the Line/ Evita/ Country Strong/ Dreamgirls

the only one that narrowly missed the hall of fame for me is 8 Mile.

Also, I've really been impressed by Gwyneth Paltrow's permormance at the Country Music Awards, she totally rocked 'Country Strong' and sung it so well. Unfortunately the musical critics were not quite as generous, but who cares what they think.

The same can be said for Nicole Kidman's performance of 'Unusual Way' from Nine.

Vintage Nostalgia

Fantastic Man - David Beckham

Never heard of the magazine, but David Beckham is doing a mighty fine job of posing for the editorial. Far better than the questionable Armani shots in his undies.

Cover boy: The shoot marks one of David's rare magazine cover appearances

Dapper: Beckham sips a cup of tea and reads the paper for a moody shot

Just an East End boy: David Beckham poses in a pie shop for the new issue of Fantastic Man magazine

Net-a-porter Lust List: J.CREW Bianca pailette-embellished tulle skirt

This lavender and silver sequin skirt by J . Crew is simply adorable. It's new to Net-a-porter and at £115, I have my eye on it. Check it out here. Wear it with a tan on a balmy summers evening and tousled tumbling hair. perfection

Never thought I'd say this, but, AWWWWWWWWWWWW

I am definitely not a sucker for cuteness or a compulsive ooo-er and aaaaw-er. But really these are so impossibly cute that even the most emotionally stunted amongst us can rejoin in the collective awwww that these pictures are bound to incite.

Through the Keyhole

Diets are Stupid

Consider yourself lucky if your are not amongst those tragically afflicted with friends/girlfriends/sisters/coworkers who refuse to eat anything and militantly watch what they consume whilst your wolfing down a burrito over lunch.

The most annoying type of dieter is the sort that gives you a gracious indulgent smile as she watches you carry your food to the table, whilst she sits sipping a sugarless tea. This is usually followed by some heart-wrenching- pity me excuse citing all sorts of dietary intolerances and a solemn assertion that she wishes she could eat the chocolate she so craves.

Utter crap, you can just tell that whilst your deciding what top makes you look like less of a bloater, they are standing proud and greyhound-esque in front of the bathroom mirrior, looking for fat to pinch.

I know which one I'd rather be.
