LOUIS VUITTON FALL 2011

LV previewed the Fall 2011 collection today. It was a curious mix of risque and demure. 50s sillouettes and sheer panels revealing breasts, hold ups and plenty of thigh. There is a flavour of theatricality and the  erotic undercurrents of some of the looks are countered by the powdery primness of others. Overall an interesting spectacle. However, I have always disliked Marc Jacobs and anything he puts his imagination to. For me all his creations are tinged with a contrived, unwearable 'Jacobean' eccentricity that I personally don't find appealing.

Below is a pic and mix to reflect the general tone of the whole collection, followed by the pieces I thought were the best.

And The Grande Finale? A washed out Kate Moss, cigarette in hand. Surely Marc could have come up with someone more interesting to close the show?
