London Fashion Week Highlights: VASSILISA

So whilst I was wandering through stalls upon stalls of beautiful clothes and jaw-dropping accessories,  I stumbled upon an astounding new designer and spent the best part of 30 minutes at their stall, gazing at their remarkable clothes and accessories.

But, it turns out that discovery isn't such a discovery after all, as Vogue, Elle, Tatler and every other top fashion publication have similarly fallen head over heels for Vassilisa. They were even the British Fashion Council Elle Award Winner in 2011.

The label, designed by Nadja Solovieva of St Martins, does the most exquisite pieces that are defined by their romantic, feminine quality and Russian folklore inspired design. Most of all I loved their dresses and the light as a feather silks which are finished with beautiful symbolic prints in the most beautiful soft greens, antique roses and cornflower blues. The clothes are just 'put on and go'- they don't need copious accessories and are beautiful in their understated simplicity.

What really caught my imagination were the prints, with their charming playful edge; featuring frogs, hearts and puppies- but at the same time they are still totally wearable and timeless. Clothes that any woman can wear and feel beautiful in.
