COSTUME INSTITUTE GALA/ MET BALL 2012 : BEST DRESSED

Best Dressed

For me, Nina Dobrev in Donna Karen took the crown for Best Dressed. Her look was dramatic and effortless. She stood out in an army of try-hards (Beyonce with her butt hanging out, Karolina Kurkova's OTT turban). Donna Karen is definitely a match made in heaven; Nina never puts a fashion foot wrong when dressed by her (remember the red gown?)

Best Dressed Runner Up

Camilla Belle looked drop-dead gorgeous in her vintage inspired Ralph Lauren gown. The shiny chestnut hair, gothic lip and simple accessories bought out her exceptional beauty. Another wow moment.

Bought the Drama Award
Love Lana Del Rey's modern take on old Hollywood glamour. The Altuzzara ensemble is simply magical and she's also rocking the dark gothic lip.

'I Can Make Anything Work' Award

Diane Kruger went for bohemian glamour choosing an iris Prada gown. This dress doesn't have the same high-octane polish as the others, but Diane just looks so effortless, the colour on her is flawless and her statement accessories bring it home.

Sheer Sensation Award

We had a lot of sheer detailing on the red carpet last night (Beyonce was a big offender). But Marion Cottilard looked simply radiant in Christian Dior. The dress is breathtaking, especially the Jessica Rabbit silhouette in the corsetry. No bling and the makeup is natural, as is M's natural beauty which is doing all the talking.

  1. I couldn't agree more! Nina was classically glamorous. I love the fact that she has a natural and feminine figure as well.

Although Karolina was a bit too much with the turban, but I liked the dress. She has a striking long and lean figure and she managed to stand out. If she opted for a flesh-baring dress, she'd look like just another too-skinny model (like Anja Rubik).

I also think Rosie H-W can make anything work with her stunning face

Although I often prefer her with her hair down.

    1. I love Rosie HW, but for me her hair and makeup were too harsh on this occasion. Otherwise she is obviously a goddess. But no one came close to Nina in my books. Anja Rubik looked grotesque :S xxxx
